PBR Hawaii - Environmental Planner

PBR HAWAII and Associates, Inc., a multi-disciplinary planning and landscape architecture firm, is seeking planners for its Honolulu and Kapolei offices.  Positions at other locations within the State may be possible, after a probationary period.  Only full-time positions are available.

PBR HAWAII and Associates, Inc. offers a range of career opportunities for planners to engage in public and private sector projects in Hawaii and the Pacific Basin.  Projects include preparing master plans and community plans and processing of environmental documents and entitlement applications. The position often entails coordinating technical consultants outside of the office, and interfacing with clients, agencies and the general public.

A desirable candidate would have:

  • A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in natural, physical, or environmental science, social science, urban planning, law, landscape architecture, architecture or other planning-related field;
  • Strong research, analytical, report writing, oral communication and organizational skills;
  • At least one to two years preparing and processing of HRS Chapter 343 environmental assessments and environmental impact statements;
  • A firm understanding NEPA, HRS Chapter 343 and other Federal, State and County environmental and land use policies, plans, and regulations; and
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and ArcGIS.

Salary is commensurate with experience and is reviewed annually.  Excellent benefits are provided.
