Planning is a process for guiding and managing the development and use of physical, economic, and human resources.
The purpose of the Hawai`i Chapter of the American Planning Association is to serve, lead, inspire, and educate the members of the Chapter, the residents of the State, and our Pacific Island neighbors. This purpose shall be accomplished by encouraging public participation in planning, promoting excellence in planning, and increasing the public's understanding of, and appreciation for, planning and its contribution toward improving the quality of life.
